Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. She is the oldest child of 4 children. Audrey Tautou's parents who were a dentist and a school teacher, supported and encouraged her passion for acting and theater. The initial goal of her to be a monkey expert was replaced by a desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. Her fame grew as an actress in her early years and achieved great popularity and success. After completing her degree she was invited to participate in Jeunes Premiers an French television talent-scouting program that was that was sponsored by Canal+. There she received the award for best Young Actress in Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to embark on a professional career as an actor. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church in her youth and was educated Catholic. However she is now separating herself from the Catholic tradition. Her acting and modelling careers were intertwined. Tautou was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is often referred to as the Chanel Muse. A keen photographer, she produced a recent exhibition at The Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Her photographs are largely about famous people and celebrities. Also, they include a collection of self portraits in addition. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her debut role as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie received international recognition due to its success at the box office. The film was also recognized at awards ceremonies across the world. It's the biggest French film in the history of French language to be made on the US. Following this massive success, Tautou starred in numerous films, including British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
